Here we go ...

15 May 2016

I had big plans for regular posting etc ... but pain got in the way again. I have got a layout to share and I will be back on a more regular basis. At least I hope.
I created this layout with the idea of really using very little because I LOVE the patterned paper from PinkFreshStudio. I added some colours using watercolours and then created two clusters. One with the photo and a second one on the right to create flow and balance. It is simple and very whimsical and I had fun playing with my paints.

The next layout was created a couple of weeks ago but haven't had time or the courage to post it. Sitting it a real nightmare at times. Once again I added some watercolours. I drew a couple of hearts and painted them. I love adding little details like this.

I'll be back in a couple of days with more layouts to share.

Have a lovely evening and week.

In the mean while ...

5 April 2016

While I'm waiting for my video to upload (still need to tweak it a little) I'm going to share two more layouts that I created.
For the first one I created a star cut file and used some funky colourful paper beneath. I kept the embellishments simple and didn't want to add too many layers. That way the photo and the cut are the centre piece of the layout.

The second layout was one I created for the hipkit DT call. I went with a yellow and grey colour scheme with a main element with a photo in the bottom left hand corner and a smaller duplicate with the title in the top right hand corner. This creates flow and balances out the page. The scattered butterflies guide the eye over the layout. Some of the butterflies are covered in washi tape to add a bit of detail as does a little bit of stitching.

Both layouts were created from older stash and kits from the HipKitclub. I have decided to stop my subscription which makes me sad but I have some plans for home improvements and need to save a little. I might buy one or two collections but I really need to work through my stash.
See you later today or tomorrow with a little video.

Getting back into it

3 April 2016

Hello ....
It has been a while. I have been resting and trying to get back into shape. I still experience pain daily but it is manageable and I'm working on strengthening my back. It is a long healing process and I might have a relapse but I am feeling a lot better. Getting to know my body and learn how to move correctly will in the long run help me. My back is my weak spot and I'll have to learn how to function differently.

I have been scrapbooing LOADS and I'm starting on filming my new class next week. I have so much to do but it'll be such fun. Today I have two layouts to show and I'll be back on Tuesday with a video.

This layout was created for a guest blog post at the CraftyMavenGetaway for a TwoPeas Throwback series.
You can see the video HERE:  Click here.

The second I made for the Design Team call for HipKit club. I wanted to get back into the DT business and decided to have a go. Unfortunately I didn't get picked. I really just wanted to get scrapbooking again and making two new layouts for the call got me back in the groove.
This is one of the layouts. White space, layers, a little reminder in the corner: all things I love in a layout.

 See you soon.

Still there and slowly

20 December 2015

getting back in the scrapbooking groove. The last months have been very busy and different. I thought that by taking a step back from scrapbooking I'd have more time to breath but once I had no assignments I decided to it was time to get back to music. I enrolled in the music academy and am following classical singing lessons. I'm learning SO much and I am loving every minute of it. My free time has also been filled with physiotherapy to get my back sorted. I have also been working on reducing our family's waste (which has been successfully reduced by more than 50%). My goal is zero waste. Creating has been put aside but I really want to get playing with paper again. So to start things off a layout AND a video. I wanted to use a photo from a photo shoot I did with my niece. She is the cutest thing ever. I opted for a simple design and lots of embellishment layering.
Enjoy and hope to see you later this week with another layout and video.

A little something to show

29 October 2015

Scrapbooking has taken a back seat at the moment. I have mixed feelings about it. I love creating but at the same time I'm missing the inner motivation. So when I scrapbook now I do it when it feels absolutely right. I have also been having severe back pain . Physiotherapy and my chiropractor have been helping me. It will take time but the pain is getting better and better. I have a very high pain threshold but when I am in pain it is horrible. Pain drains my energy and I feel helpless because I can't be active. Maybe I do too much but I have such a hard time just sitting still. Well I'm nearly there but I'll have to really careful and running is a big no no which is really hard to accept. Enough about my back and on to the creative part.
Here are two layouts I created this month. I'm slowly getting back in the groove.

Hope to be back soon with more scrapbooking and maybe a video.
Oh and my next class at BigPictureClasses will be live soon. Check it out here. I'll be doing a give-away soon so keep your eyes open.
Happy Scrapping

Young ...

12 September 2015

37 is creeping up slowly and 40 is coming closer and closer. One thing I have learnt the last couple of years is that the number means nothing. I know myself better now than when I was 20 and I feel more me each and every day. Being creative has also been a catalyst to becoming a more confident person. I can look in the mirror and say that I like the person looking back. I still have a long journey. I am trying to be more open to God and his word. Young is a state of mind. I feel I have so much more to discover and achieve. Life has only just started.
I loved using my Hipkit to create this layout. FUN FUN FUN. That is what scrapbooking needs to be.

Last layout for Scrapaddictes

9 September 2015

Today my last post went live for Scrapaddictes. I loved working for them. It was laid back and fun but I need to take a step back. I think this is currently my favourite layout because of the bright colours.
I hope to get some scrapping done this weekend and I have some ideas for class at BigPicture so I'll be writing down some ideas too.
Happy Scrapping.

Long time no scrap

6 September 2015

It has been a while since I posted something. In August I did scrapbook but mostly for my next class and BigPictureClasses and for Esprit Scrapbooking. Creating has to stay fun so as long as I don't feel the need I don't force myself. Yesterday I felt the need to sit and create and that is exactly what I did. I enjoyed myself and just created because I wanted to. I missed that feeling of freedom.
Here are two pages I made. The first using Hip kits and the second with items that were lying on my desk.
I used my sizzix butterfly punch on this layout just because I like butterflies.

Have a wonderful Sunday and see you soon.

Sizzix and pink

13 January 2015

I have a new layout on the sizzix blog. Hop over and check it out. I played with some stamps and matching dies and also added PINK PAINT.

I also created this layout for the weekend challenge at Hip Kit Club with this board as inspiration :

I'll be back at the end of the week with a video. YES A VIDEO.
