Just around the corner

5 February 2016

I prepared a video and a layout for a collaboration. Sadly the person organising wasn't feeling too well and it was cancelled but I can so my layout and video here. One thing I have learnt over the years is that we should first take care of ourselves. Sometimes we forget and we keep going on and on until one day we just can't. Our body shuts down. I hope my dear friend will feel better soon.

Valentine's day is just around the corner. I don't really celebrate it because I believe we should show our love and affection for people all year round. Love should always come first. If it is love for others or ourselves. So here is a layout all about love. I used one of the very rare photos of my husband and I. And I think my sister's wedding photographer captured us perfectly.

I'll be back on Sunday with another video.

Long time no scrap

6 September 2015

It has been a while since I posted something. In August I did scrapbook but mostly for my next class and BigPictureClasses and for Esprit Scrapbooking. Creating has to stay fun so as long as I don't feel the need I don't force myself. Yesterday I felt the need to sit and create and that is exactly what I did. I enjoyed myself and just created because I wanted to. I missed that feeling of freedom.
Here are two pages I made. The first using Hip kits and the second with items that were lying on my desk.
I used my sizzix butterfly punch on this layout just because I like butterflies.

Have a wonderful Sunday and see you soon.

Pops of colour

17 August 2015

Hi there everyone. I have a layout to share with you today. I really love how colourful and bright it is even though I used a dark background. It is all about getting the contrast right. One of my classes at BigPictureClasses is all about contrast. You can check it out here. I love the new BPC website and the way it works. You pay  $9.95 monthly and you get access to all the classes. There are so many to choose from. You will not be disappointed. You have the possibility of a trial period just to see if you like it but I'm sure you will.

Creating contrast is high up on my list when working on a layout. I am always looking for ways to make the photo stand out. Using dark backgrounds is fun and I love how colours just pop off the page. I used my sizzix BigShotPlus and some circle dies to cut out some extra circles for my cluster. I added a bit of stamping to them for extra detail.

I'll be back later on this week with a video of a card that I made yesterday.
Have a lovely week and happy scrapping.

Sea photograph

17 July 2015

Our little trip to the seaside in April was just what we all needed. The kids had an amazing time at the beach and my husband and I had time to relax and put our feet up a little. We had awesome weather and the boys even ventured into the cold North Sea.

I took loads of photos and I'm still working my way through them. Here is a layout I created with a photo taken of Damien and Noé on one of their many search parties. They spent hours looking for crabs, shrimps, and other tiny sea creatures.

Their is a little video showing the whole process and I also added the cut file I created. You can download it here: CIRCLE CUT FILE.

Butterflies ....

10 July 2015

After my cooking post back to scrapbooking. I'm busy working on my next class at BigPictureClasses so that is taking lots of time but I will try to squeeze in the occasional video for my blog too. Today I am sharing a layout I created yesterday with my brand new sizzix butterfly punch. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Happy Scrapping.

Video Sunday

1 March 2015

It has been a while since I posted a video on Sunday. I've been filming like mad these last days for a special project. Hope to share soon but for now a little video.

Lovely

18 February 2015

When winter is coming to an end or at least I hope it is, I always seem to have a walk through memory lane and I go through my summer or spring pictures. I came across these from our summer vacation and I was whizzed back in time to those lovely family moments.

Sometimes photos speak a thousand words: Elouan's smile, his arms around my neck and even my smile show how happy we are.
This second picture was taken on a boat trip with the boys. Noé was thrilled to go on the boat but was also the most frightened as it went really fast. He enjoyed it immensely.
 Material: Studio Calico kits.

Hoping to film a video soon. Have a wonderful day.

Patchwork

12 February 2015

Back with another layout. In one of my Studio Calico kits there was a patterned paper which had irregular rectangles on it. I loved the colour combination but didn't want to use the paper as one piece so I decided to cut it up and use the shapes to recreate a little patchwork. Yet again I kept it simple but I still added some fun details like adding some watercolour to the stamped title and adding a bit of stitching.

I'll be back soon with some fun news to share.

Absolutely sweet

11 January 2015

Busy. I thought that December was a busy month but January hasn't been very calm either. Once I'm back in the groove I'll start making videos again. Just need to get things sorted out a bit. I slowed down a bit on the scrapbooking side last year and I got back into music. I LOVE it but miss creating though I do still create. I hope this year I'll be able to continue scrapbooking and doing the things I love.
I created this layout a couple of days ago. Simple but I really love it.

Dream and let your mind wander

4 January 2015

First of all, let me wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR. May it be filled with love, health and creativity. I hope to keep on creating this year and start making more videos and teaching more classes. Here is my first layout of the year.

Robin is such a special boy. All my boys are. He has the ability to absord every word and every action and has an amazing memory. I hope he'll go through life and dream as he does.

Forgotten

28 December 2014

As I was looking through some of my files on the computer I came across this layout which I forgot to post here. I made it just before transitioning to the 8.5*11 size. I love the new format but the 12*12 still seems easier to work with. I feel that there isn't enough white space on the 8.5*11 format.
The supplies used for this layout came from one of the many Studio Calico kits I have lying around. I really should use them more.

I also forgot to post about my latest Sizzix project. You can see the full layout on the blog HERE.
