Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Lotus Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in Total Prizes)

22 May 2021

Welcome to the Paint-A-Flower Lotus Blog Hop and Giveaway. If you have hopped over from Terri Koszler's blog you are right on track. You can start the hop over on the Altenew Card Blog.

The lotus is such a spectacular flower. Its symmetry and elegant beauty are simply stunning. The lotus has a life cycle unlike any other plantIt submerges every night into river water and miraculously re-blooms the next morning. In many cultures,  the flower is associated with rebirth and spiritual enlightenment.

Colouring such a wonderful flower isn't easy but I had a go at it using Altenew Valley Sunshine Artist Markers Set F.

I stamped the image to the bottom section of my card base and coloured the leaves and flowers. For the water, I used a soft blue and went over it with the Altenew Blending Marker to create a soft water look.

I love the effect the blending gave the water.

If you love our Paint-A-Flower stamps, why not get a subscription. They are the perfect size and great for practising colouring techniques.

Oh, my goodness, I love how you only use the top of the stamp for your card. It showcases the fact that we CAN leave a lot of white space on a card and it looks incredible. Altenew always does such a superb job with their flowers but this stamp set is truly exceptional.
