Welcome to the Altenew February 2020 Blog Hop and Giveaway. Today's Hop is fabulous and there are so many lovely new products available. Choosing one favourite is going to be difficult.

I created a layout with the following new products:

  • New Beginnings Stamp Set

 I started by stamping the floral images with Altenew Obsidian Black Ink and coloured them with the new Watercolour paints. Once my images were dry I cut them out with the coordinating dies.

I kept the colouring very simple and went for bright colours. I created a "ledge" of flowers for my photo to sit on and added a frame to create a focal point. Some leftover leaves from the Vase Fillers Stamp Set add extra detail and the green colour balances with the bright colours of the flowers. I also added some Botanical Rhapsody Washi Tape that I coloured with Altenew Artist Markers.

Altenew January 2020 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

 Welcome to the January 2020 Blog Hop and Giveaway. If you have come from  Svitlana Shayevich's blog you are right on track. You can start the hop on the Altenew Card Blog.

For today's hop, I created a layout with the Bold Floral Drape Stamp and Die Set. This stamp set features a unique layering style to create gorgeous cover patterns and floral arrangements. The set features a beautiful 5.5 x 5.5 negative floral pattern stamp that can be used as-is or in combination with floral stamps that fit right into the negative spaces. You may stamp the large image with a light-coloured ink on white or coloured card stock to get a subtle background pattern, or you may stamp it in darker colours for a bold look.

I opted for teal and pink and created a soft background on some 8.5" by 11" white smooth cardstock and added separate flowers on top.

A couple of frames break up the soft rounded edges of the flowers and the black patterned paper makes the photo pop off the page.


I love the versatility of the set and how easy it is to use.

Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Poppy Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Altenew's Paint-A-Flower stamp sets are released monthly and celebrate the beauty of a wide variety of flowers! Each stamp set features an outline image of a gorgeous floral arrangement, just waiting to be painted or coloured with your favourite medium. There's no need for you to spend time layering and masking images, as we have designed these sets to allow you to stamp once then colour!




This month's flower is the POPPY. It is one of my favourites. It grows in the fields around my village and I love seeing those pops of red in the fields.

I created a card with the stamp set and used my Altenew Watercolor Palette to add colour to the background and flower. It is so easy to do. 

I decided to stamp the image with embossing ink and add white embossing powder. You will get a crisp white edge and the watercolouring is a lot easier because the embossed lines will keep you colour from going outside the edges.

 TIP: use good quality watercolour paper as you'll be able to play around with the colour a lot more.
