Some pink ...

25 March 2014

After having made a couple of really bright coloured layouts, I wanted to use some pink again. The first layout is for this week's Glitz Design Theme which is a colour combo:light pink, light blue, white and gold. I LOVE the softness of the layout and really think it works well with the photo of my little Elouan (well he's not so little any more), riding on his bike (no stabilisers/training wheels). He just loves to ride on the side walk and he can cycle like no other. It reminds me of when I was a kid. I used to have a BMX and loved riding on it. My father reminded me that I always said "I love to ride my bike on the road" (with a really strong South African accent). It is funny how memories I capture of my children, remind me of moments from my past.

The second layout I created really quickly. I was inspired by the floral pattern of one of the patterned papers in the Office Hours kit from Studio Calico. I love the colours in the layout and think it is my new favourite.

More about me ....

17 March 2014

Well yesterday I showed you a picture with a selfie and today a picture taken by one of the boys. I love fashion and thought it would be nice to make a layout about it. I used Glitz Design collections for this page and some glitter paper as we are focusing on GLITTER this week on the Glitz Design blog. There is also a monthly challenge so hop on over and play along.

Love this Lane ... Glitz Design

14 March 2014

As time passes I am more and more aware of my surroundings and often feel the urge to stop and look more closely at the places I see every single day. I have noticed that the more I stop the more beauty I see. This layout has a photo of the lane I drive on every day when I go to work. It could be just an ordinary lane, something I take for granted but I love it. When seasons change it changes to. It takes me places. I hope my children we see the beauty that surrounds them and that they will appreciate it as much as I do.
I used the AMAZING 77 collection from Glitz Design. The patterns are to die for and I was a bit afraid of how to use them but once the background had been cut it came together really fast. I also used a roller stamp to create circles using a circle mask and created my own embellishments by punching out patterned paper which I had stamped onto and then making flowers. I don't know why but the in the photo of the layout the layers don't seem straight but they are.

Glitz Design

5 March 2014

Yesterday I had a layout on the GLitz Design blog using the new CARPE DIEM collection. It is such a soft and subtle collection. Some might say it is quite girly but you know me .... I love using soft pastel colours with my boys. I picked a photo taken with my phone. Robin came up for a long cuddle and I couldn't resist. Love it when my boys come up for a hug and I hope they will continue for a LONG time. As soon as the products hit the stores I'll link them up ;)  .

Glitz Design: Color Trend

6 February 2014

This week over on the Glitz Design blog Neutral, Silver, Gold and Pink are the stars of the show. I decided to work with a lot of white, add pink in splashes and make a statement with silver glitter mixed with clear modeling paste. I love how the photos just pop off the layout. These pictures were taken on one of our walks around our small village.

All Glitz and Gold

30 January 2014

This week it is sparkling on the Glitz Design blog. I loved the gold theme we had to work with. As I didn't have lots of time to work on this assignment I didn't overthink it and just went with the flow. I love how it turned out. Simple, light, bright and I am pretty happy with the photo taken by my four year old. I am starting to love seeing myself in pictures. It has made me see past all the things I disliked as they make me so different and unique. Never forget to take pictures of yourself.
