It has been quite a while since I did an online course so I thought I'd take the TRENDSPOTTING class at Studio Calico. I am having so much fun! Here is a layout I created for the triangle lesson. Now triangles are not so daunting as I have used them many times before but here I used the exclusive cut file that comes with the class. I used it as mask but in a slightly unconventional way as I didn't use mist, ink or paint. I outlined the triangles with a pen and stamped a few others. I also added hints of neon yellow. Another one of the trends that will be discussed in the class but I have already been using those colours as well.

Summer video: Feathers

It is Monday which means time for another video. This week it'll only be one as my boys are at home and they'll be keeping me pretty busy! I made this video because Wendy asked me how I made the feather on this layout.

C'est l'heure pour un vidéo. Cette fois ci je vous montre comment j'ai crée les plumes comme sur la page ci-dessous et en même temps vous pouvez voir comment je crée une page pour mon art journal. J'utiliserai des pastels à l'huile et des gelatos!

They are really easy to create. At the same time I'll be showing you how I use gelatos and oil pastels so those who are looking for some new techniques to use on a layout this is also for you. As I had already made a layout using the feathers (which seem to be very present in a lot of collections at summer CHA 2012), I decided to make an art journal page. I Like Grey
