Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Carnations Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

22 September 2020

Welcome to the Paint-A-Flower Carnations Blog Hop. If you have hopped over from LauraJane's blog you are right on track. You can start the hop over on the Altenew Card Blog.

For today's hop, I decided to do something different. I love colouring the PAF sets but I wanted a cleaner more graphic look for this card.

With the Altenew Obsidian Black Ink I stamped a couple of Carnations on the bottom part of the card. I tried to add a diagonal to the card by placing the flowers in such a way that they are lower on the left and higher on the right.

For contrast, I cut out a strip of black cardstock and with an old punch added a simple bord. For my sentiment I picked out a brightly coloured cardstock and cut out the word congrats.

The colours are simple but striking and I'm really happy with how this cards turned out.

Love, Love the black stamp stand alone and then add a POP of color. Super nice card for me here. Thanks for giving inspiration that florals don't always need color. Waiting on my set to arrive.

I am reconsidering this stamp set. I don't paint and don't color much, so I figured I wouldn't get this set. But I really love the look of these carnations in black and white outline. Thank you for showing their simple beauty!

Elegant, simple, sophisticated words that are not enough to describe the effectiveness of this card! Skillfully arranged. You certainly made nothing compete and everything both arranged and created for the greatest visual impact!!!
