Altenew August 2020 Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Wax Seals Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

11 August 2020

Welcome to the Summer Nights Blog Hop. If you have hopped over from Erum Tasneem's blog (my crafty

hero), you are right on track. You can start the hop over on the Altenew Card Blog.

Today's release is spectacular and there are so many new fabulous products to fit everyone's style. I created three projects that are all very different.

My first is a card using the Baby Shower Stamp Set that I coloured with some watercolours. It is such a cute set and can be used for many occasions.

For my second card I used the Darling Rose Stamp and Die Set.

How to:
  1. Brush water to a piece of watercolour paper and add two or three watercolour colours. Let the colours mix and blend together naturally adding water if needed. Create two shades: one for the flower and another for the leaves. Leave to dry.
  2. Stamp the rose and leaves onto the coloured paper.
  3. Cut out the shapes.
  4. Pull out a fun stencil and create a contrasting background.
  5. Adhere your rose and leaves using foam tape.
  6. Stamp a sentiment and add your favourite embellishments (enamel dots, sequins, ...)

I really love the loose look of this rose and it is easy to do. This is a great technique if you want to create a whole bunch of cards and don't have time to colour each flower separately.

T

My last project is a 12 by 12 layout. I picked the whimsical Floral Minimalism Stamp, Die and Mask/Stencil Set. This set is super easy to use as there are only two layers.

My design is based around one horizontal line with a cluster of floral elements around it and a photo. I also added two repetitive elements to the top and bottom of the layout to add flow and frame the centre part.

For added whimsy I doodled on the leaves and added a couple of swirls around my floral arrangement. Inks splatters using the crisp inks that I used for the stamped images fill up the white space. When adding the splatters I tried to keep them on a diagonal to guide the eye over the photo.

You can see how this layout came together in the video below or watch it in HD on YouTube.

I had such fun with this release and I'm sure you'll find a product to fit your needs.

Prizes:

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog by 8/17/2020 for a chance to win.
