Welcome to the Paint-A-Flower Hydrangea Release Blog Hop and Giveaway. If you have come from Laurie Willison's blog you are right on track. You can start the hop over on the Altenew Card Blog .
For today's hop, I created a card. I am really enjoying watercolouring at the moment and try to practise regularly. Watercolouring stamped flowers is my new favourite thing to do so when I got this set I knew I wanted to practise my colouring skills.
I started by stamping the flower image with some very light ink. I used Vanilla Cream from Altenew. It is a waterbased ink and I love using it for no-line watercolouring.
Lydia who is also on the team taught me a trick when it comes to no-line watercolouring. For the best results, you should work on petals, leaves, etc that aren't touching. Work your way around the flower or arrangement and before starting on an adjacent element, make sure the one next to it is completely dry. This will ensure you get the best results.
I am really happy with the result of the hydrangea flower but still need to work on the leaves.

Your watercoloring is lovely. I don't know how to build layers, so my coloring looks no where near this pretty. Your card looks wonderful.
The centers of these flowers catch the eye so beautifully! At first glance I thought you had stamped or heat embossed your watercolor tin, which is also very pretty! Love the lavender so much. Thanks and please stay healthy!
Very pretty & elegant card. Lovely colours & your no line colouring is beautiful.
Lovely! No line coloring is such a challenge for me!
Oh man, that is gorgeous painting! You are so talented! I am new so I hope to get at least as half as good! Love hydrangea! I think of my grandmother who had passed away several years ago now. But, when I see hydrangea I think of her because she had a yard full of them. She was so good at growing things. I have 2 in my yard serving as memory for her but mine are babies compared to what she grew. She let them get huge and it was like a jungle of course I was a child then so everything looks bigger then. I love the shades of purple that you used on your card. It is so exquisite! I have got to start learning all these techniques!
This is a gorgeous PAF set, a very pretty image and great sentiments!! This hydrangea is very pretty and your watercolor design is perfect Lilith! Thanks for the inspiration!
