Altenew + The Daily Marker Color Therapy Blog Hop & Giveaway

18 November 2019

Altenew is collaborating with the amazing Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker to inspire crafters to find joy through colouring. Kathy is celebrating her 14th 30 Day Coloring Challenge until the end of November 2019.

If you have hopped over from LauraJane's Blog you are right on track. You can start the hop on the Altenew Card Blog.

I have always loved colouring and have fond memories of sitting outside with a colouring book as a child. To this day I still enjoy the process as it helps me unwind from hectic days. For today's hop, I created a card using the Dainty Blooms Cover Die. I partially die cut the shape making sure my cardstock was thicker than usual. This will ensure that the die doesn't cut all the way through.

Once I had my image I started colouring in the flowers and leaves with Altenew Artist Markers. I used the Artist Markers Set D.

I kept the sentiment very simple by creating a sentiment strip using a sentiment from the Love Letters Stamp Set.

If you want hop over and participate in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge by coloring something and share it on social media using the hashtag #thedailymarker30day. We hope you find “Me Time” and enjoy the benefits that coloring will give.

Prizes:

Altenew is giving away a $30 gift certificate to 5 lucky winners and Kathy from The Daily Maker is also giving away her 5”x7” original watercolour artwork (including a custom frame). Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog by 11/22/2019 for a chance to win.

We’ll also draw a winner to receive a $15 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog on the blog hop list below. All winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 11/24/2019.

Your next stop is: Nenette S. Madero

Beautiful - I do also love that it has this stained art look to it too - like there are discrete panels of colour!

Extremely cool idea. Makes it looks like stained glass, but also like that Dutch folk art with the flowers (don't know the name). I love your color choices and the layering of the pinks.

What a fun way to showcase that background die! I really like the way you can see the strokes on your flower petals and the shades of green that you used on the leaves.

Very pretty card. I love how you cut into the paper rather than cutting it out completely. I'll have to try that. I love the look you got.

Interesting how you used the die to do more embossing type, then color around it. It almost takes on a stained glass look; quite lovely. Thank you for sharing your talents!

Wow. I think this is the first time where I've seen this technique of die cutting but not all the way through. That jigsaw puzzle effect is STUNNING and so easy to do. The colouring would have most likely taken you more time but I love how you did this. So pretty. Thanks for sharing this with us.
