January 2019 Watercolor Brush Markers Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

10 January 2019

Come from Norine Borys's blog, you are right on track.

Welcome to the Altenew January 2019 Blog Hop featuring the new addition to the Watercolor Brush Collection. This set is called the Winter Wonderland Set.

Product Description:
Create stunning works of art with our Watercolor Brush Markers! The barrel is filled with water-based color, and coordinates with our line of inks. The flexible, yet sturdy bristles on the brush tip allow you to form both broad and fine strokes. Color can be applied straight from the marker, or diluted with water for a softer look.

I created a home project using the Wild Ferns Stamp set and used one of my favourite techniques which is the resist technique.

How to:
  1. Stamp one of the fern images on the top part of the watercolour cardstock. Use embossing ink and add embossing powder on top.
  2. Heat emboss the embossing powder.
  3. Choose some colours from the Winter Wonderland Set. I used Mountain Mist, Lagoon, Emerald and Persian Blue.
  4. Tip: Add water to the paper before this will help the colours move around and blend.
  5. Add a title and a text.

You can see how the layout came together below on watch the video in HD on YouTube.

Prizes:
Altenew is giving away a $40 gift certificate to six lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Wednesday, January 16th for a chance to win. Six winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 1/19/2019.

I'm also giving away a $20 gift certificate to one lucky winner. Just leave a comment here and I'll pick a lucky winner on January 15th.

I have to say that as I watched your video, I realized that I have never tried using water colours on a scrap book page. I realize that this is more of a home deco piece (and its lovely) but you have inspired me to try a w/c background for a layout. I am excited now to try it. TFS this, Lilith.
