Playing catch up

26 April 2014

This week has been really busy: getting back into the school rhythm, preparing a school trip, prepping Robin's communion, ..... I haven't had much time to blog or create. Today I have a couple of projects to show you. First a layout which was on the Glitz Design blog. This week we worked with a CLEAN&SIMPLE theme. I used very light colours with hints of red, black and blue. It doesn't necessarily meet the clean&simple ideas some might have but it is my take on it.

The next layout is a 30- minute, just have some fun creating  layout. I used the PLUS ONE collection by Amy Tangerine and added some Studio Calico embellishments.

And finally, here are 3 cards I created for the American Crafts blog where this week we focused on SPORTS.

I usually add the links of the products I used so that you can buy them at TwoPeas but TwoPeas doesn't have a lot of these supplies in stock. I am working on another linking system and hope to use it soon. You can find most of the products at SCRAPBOOK.COM.

Have a FAB weekend.

Messy Monday

14 April 2014

A new week starts. We are taking a small road trip to the Belgian seaside and I can't wait to spend some fun time with the kids and my husband. Nothing special, just sand and sea.
Today I have two layouts to show you and some phone photos. The first layout was created with the Scraptastic April kit: Worth Wondering. I used lots of messy techniques. Some of the products were: gesso, neocolor2 crayons, Izink inks. There is a short video (sorry no explanations as I was a tired and my voice was acting up).

The second was created for the Glitz Design blog where this week we are focusing on SPRING/EASTER. I started off by applying gesso to the background and adding a doily and some butterflies. Then I used my Izink inks. Really love how this layout turned out.

Video Sunday

13 April 2014

It is Sunday which means VIDEO time.
I made two videos with my last kit from Scraptastic Kit club. I'll show the second tomorrow. Today's layout is based on a grid design but I took a more approach and didn't worry to much about straight lines and accurate measurements. I hope you enjoy it. Tomorrow's video will show some "messy" techniques. So don't forget to pop by.

All in a song ...

12 April 2014

This week on the Glitz Design blog our creations are inspired by music. I used the lyrics of a song by Christina Perri called "Human".
I am a huge music fan, play a couple of instruments and used to sing in a choir and follow singing lessons. Music has played an important part in my life as I met my husband though it. He joined the brass band I was playing in. Even now I still treasure music and I am always listening to something when I scrap. I love all styles from pop to jazz and classical music. I picked the lyrics of a song by Christina Perri for this layout. A song which reminds me I am only human and that I don’t need to be a “perfect” wife, mum, teacher, … that I can make mistakes and learn from them. Let music inspire you, comfort you, motivate you … it is was makes it so special.

My last kit ...

11 April 2014

Yes. April is my last month at Scraptastic Kit Club. I have decided to stop for the time being. I really want to work on my online classes which will start this summer. I am planning on doing at least 2 full online classes a year which will consist of 5 videos around one topic (pdf files to with each video and freebies). This first will be about LAYERING as that has been one of the techniques a lot of people have been asking me questions about. I'll do one or two smaller classes throughout the year as well. The larger classes will be sold at 10€ (about 14$).

This month I got the Worth Wondering kit. I made 5 layouts with it. I'll be showing two today and have a video for another two. The 5th will go live on the Scraptastic blog on Monday.
