Banners ...

24 August 2012

They are one of the trends being discussed in the Trendspotting class I'm following at Studio Calico. I have always loved banners and they never seem to get boring. Today, besides working franticly on my assignments, I made this quick 30 minute layout just for fun. Really simple with some subtle touches like the gesso and gelato painting. Love how it turned out. Well that is it for today. I have been creating loads but can't show anything. I'm off to create some more. Really enjoying the last days of the summer holidays! School starts on September 1st and next week will be dedicated to getting everything prepped for my lessons.

More Lilybee

23 August 2012

Things have been quiet here this week. The boys were at soccer camp and so I thought I could tackle some DIY projects. Off I went to Ikea and I found all I needed and even more. Only minus point of going to Ikea on your own is that it isn't that easy to load and unload heavy parcels! I managed to place these in the kitchen (after having drilled into a heating pipe). They are my favourite feature in the kitchen and I am so pleased I found a spot for my grandma's pots.

Now for some scrappy business. Today another of my creations was featured on the Lilybee blog. I love their new releases and had fun creating this layout. I used my cameo to cut out a camera and misted with Mr Huey's white to create a "flash" effect. Not my usual style but still it is fun!

Monday Monday

20 August 2012

Hello there. Hope you have had a great start to the week. Today I'm off to ikea. The boys need a desk and I need some little bits and bobs. This week the boys are on soccer camp so I'll be trying to get all the chores off my to do list. Some of which are big ones: painting Elouan's bedroom, making 6 chair covers for the dining room, clean, hang lights, garden, finish scrapbook assignments, start preparing lessons, .... and I could go on. Hope I'll get them all done!
Today is Monday so it is video time. This week is about choosing products. I will give you some insight into how I choose my products before I start scrapbooking. And as always I will create a layout. I didn't have much time to edit (small computer issues!) so there will be no step by step comments for the layout. If you do have any questions just add them to the comment section and I'll answer them in a next post. I have one more video lined up and it will be posted next week or the week after! Summer will be over in two weeks (I'll be teaching again!). I will still make the occasional video but not every week. Probably once a month maybe more when it's school break.Hope you like it!

19 August 2012

It is Sunday and that means the SGD DT girls are sharing more projects using Rahel's stamps. You can check out Janna's and Nina's projects on the SDG blog here. Today's post was all about focussing on the colours teal and yellow. I decided to go with a bright version of these colours and dug into my Sass stash again. I hardly ever use flowers on my layouts but decided to use the Sassafras ones. I really love the colours but overall I am not that pleased with this layout and I am sure it is because of the flowers. Well, done is done and it is another memory that is recorded. The photo is of Robin running around deciding where we should go on one of our many walks. He is a funny little fellow.
