I'm sure you know what follows! A FEATHER. Yesterday was TRENDY TUESDAY on the SCRAPTASTIC blog and I talked about one of my favourite trends at the moment. I know it isn't everybody's cup of tea but I LOVE feathers. I made this layout using the November WHEN SKIES ARE GREY kit and add on. I love that kit and I am currently working on another two layouts. I hope this layout shows how beautiful feathers can be on a scrapbook page.

Thankful ...

Even though we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Belgium it is a celebration I really love. We should express what we are grateful for, more often as sometimes the hustle and bustle of life is blinding and prevents us from seeing how lucky we are. I made a layout and a card for Thanksgiving week over on the AC blog. I am so thankful for my 4 boys. It isn't always easy but they have made me grow and become a better person. I am so grateful they are healthy, energetic and mischievous fellows. They make me laugh, they give me kisses, I worry about them, and I could go on. They are so special and I hope they know it.

Last but not least a THANK YOU card. One can never have enough thank you cards. There is always someone to thank. I especially want to thank all those who leave a comment. Those comments mean the world to me so THANK YOU! MERCI! DANK JE WEL! DANKE SCHÖN!  ....

SGD Sunday

What? Sunday? Already?! AHHHH before I know it'll be Christmas. Where did the time go when I would say: " I'm bored !" I don't know how it feels to be bored any more! So it is that time again when I show you a little something I made for SwissGirlDesigns. Today it is all about the Merry Christmas stamp! I love that stamp but didn't want to make a Christmas layout so I chose to use the Branch/Pine Needle stamp. I embossed it on some vellum using gold Zing embossing powder and slipped it underneath the layers.

Et oui, dèjà dimanche! Donc il est l'heure de vous montrer une petite page faite pour le blog de SwissGirlDesigns! Aujourd'hui les tampons MERRY CHRISTMAS sont à l'honneur! J'ai opté de faire une page sur un autre thème et j'ai embossé une image avec du Zing doré sur du calque.

That time

of year when the weather is grey, wet and not exactly nice. On the other hand it is also a period of preparation. Preparing Damien, Noé and Robin birthdays, getting ready for Saint Nicolas and above all Christmas is just around the corner too. All those things brighten those gloomy days. I decided to play along with the Sunday Sketch at Studio Calico and add some colour to my life. I challenged myself to use things I had at hand's reach! I used my gelatos to create a "sunburst" and worked from that. Now I must say I am not pleased with this layout as I messed up a few things. 

1. See the brad, I added that to hide some smudged ink.
2. I used the wrong glue to glue the vellum hearts down and now it shows.
3. Near the BE GOOD rub on, I wanted to stamp a small sentiment, ... well that didn't work out as planned.
4. The stamped image JUSTE L'ESSENTIEL is not straight.

It is not as planned but I have learnt to except that I will not be happy with every layout I make and that is okay but it keeps pushing me to create and try new techniques. Everyone in the family likes it as it is colourful and I also managed to use up lots of scraps and cameo die cuts I had lying around.
