As I have a wee bit of time on my hands this weekend, I decided to play along at Studio Calico with the CHAllenges in honour of CHA. I made this layout combining Stephanie doily challenge and Jen's layering challenge using one of my many SC kits still lying there nearly untouched!

I had this Amy Tangerine mini book lying around for quite some time and just knew I would use it! The photos I took on one of our walks Autumn just fitted perfectly. I made the mini with step-by-step instructions for Emma's online scrapbooking store SCRAPFUTE.

Project life week 2

As tomorrow is Tuesday and on Tuesday I teach evening classes, I won't have lots of time to blog so today I am posting twice. Love Project Life and making my pages. They are really me and this approach suits my hectic lifestyle. So week 2 looks like this (week 3 is nearly finished as well but that is for Friday!)

WINTER where are you?

Last year we had loads of it and it was wonderful. The kids loved playing outside. This winter has been in one word grey. Grey skies and lots of rain. Seems more like autumn than winter. What better way to feel a bit more wintery than by scrapping some pictures from last year. And that just what I did!! I used the lovely ColorsConspiracy papers and transparency. I used some more grey cardstock that I heart at the moment.

I know I have said it many times but the My Scrapbook Nook forum is such an inspiring place to be. At the moment we're having an online crop. CHA 2012 is just around the corner and I am really loving all the sneaks. American Crafts has some amazing lines. Love the New Dear Lizzy line and Amy Tangerine is fantastic as well and all the other new collections look fabulous. Have a look:

How things turn out ...

Looking back I realise I have changed a lot. When I met my husband I weighed 26 kg more than I do now and I was very shy and felt really bad about myself. 14 years down the line and I have never felt better. I really owe this all to my other half, my one and only. I really should say it more often but he is awesome. My kids have also given me so much. I feel so much more confident partly because they give me so much love and affection. Scrapbooking has also given me that extra push to finding myself. 2011 was a wonderful year and my resolution for 2012 is to enjoy. Enjoy my work, my family and my hobby. I also want to thank all of you who over the years have left comments which filled me with joy.

I thank God for all I have and will try to give more to others as well. Just needed to say this!

For the layout I wanted to use several pictures so I made a mini book on it. (Did this a year ago but used page protectors instead! See post here.)

And then this: a mini I made with quotes I found on pinterest and that I want to use on my layouts! All products are from AC (except the stamps). I will update the supply list later on this week! I used some brown paper used to protect scrapbook items from one of my online orders.

I am really honoured to be part of the CRATE PAPER Design Team. It's dream come true! My layout on their blog isn't with any of their collections but it wasn't required. Project life

I have been watching several scrapbookers doing Project Life and have always wanted to have a go and I LOVE it. I really thought it would take lots of time but it doesn't. I am not too strict either. If I miss a day it's not that bad and sometimes I have loads to tell about one day and near to nothing for the next. I just want to have fun! I didn't buy anything for PL, because I want to use my stash. I have got load of stuff! Lots to show you, so I might do several posts this weekend!

J'ai beaucoup de personnes l'an dernier faire Project Life et je me lance cette année. J'adore et j'espère tenir jusqu'à la fin de l'année! Je le fais à ma façon et si je n'ai su prendre des photos pour un ou plusieurs jours de la semaine ce n'est pas grave. Je veux m'amuser!

Yes yes, I can hear you all saying: "Lilith it's the same as last week". Well yes and no. Last week was for layouts or mini book / altered object projects, this weeks it is tags and cards and we had to use the photo as inspiration. I used the vertical lines and used the butterflies to break them up just as the mirror does in the picture. Love using my sewing machine!

Et oui, c'est le même que la semaine passée sauf que cette semaine il faut s'inspirer de la photo et faire uniquement des cartes ou tags. Voici ma carte. J'ai gardé les lignes verticales et j'ai utilisé les papillons pour casser ces lignes comme le mirroir dans la photo!

That's what I am doing right now! I'm enjoying myself scrapbooking! Yesterday I had the house all to myself am really scrapped like mad. I made this layout using the Studio Calico HANDMADE kit. Love the different shades of grey with the pop of green!

Canvas and KNOCK OUTS!

I really loved making my first canvas and thought I'd make another. Less to my liking but still fun to make!

J'ai vraiment aimer faire mon premier canvas donc j'en fait un autre. Il me plaît moins mais c'était amusant à faire!

In my latest American Crafts box I received some Knock Outs. They are interchangeable punches and I love them. I made a little video on how I use them and how to get the punched shape nicely lined up.

Getting ready for a New Year

And what better way than to look back. Yet again I have come to the conclusion that time flies. This year has yet again been a wonderful one. A year seeing my boys grow and learn. A year full of new and challenging experiences for me. A year I will happily look back at. On the American Crafts blog my two last projects of the year were up yesterday both about the New Year.

As this blog is all about scrapbooking what better way to wrap up the year than with a layout and a card.

I just love Crate paper and the December Kit at My Scrapbook Nook was full of it. Just for fun I played along with the colour combo challenge on the Crate Paper blog and I love the way my page turned out! Layering, white space, thread, a wee bit of misting, all the things I really like at the moment. And to top it all it was featured on their blog.

Preparing for Christmas

What better way to get in a Christmas mood than by making some Christmas decorations. I used lots of twine and also oodles of American Crafts Hollyday products. They are so cute and make crafting really easy. Loved making them. The only thing that took ages was plating the twine. But it looks good!

Pour moi Noël commence quand je sors les décorations et cette année j'ai décidé d'en faire aussi! J'ai utilisé du "twine" et beaucoup de produits de chez American Crafts, idéal pour créer des décos de noël.

December Daily and a winner

Things are really hectic and I have little to no time with all the correcting I'm having to do! I am taking pictures and writing my stories for my DD but have a printer problem. So I'm waiting to have enough pictures and will order them online next week. I did manage to get my first three days printed. And here they are:

Scrapbooknook Advent calender

If there is a tradition I really like at Christmas it's an advent calender. We do one every year. Sometimes I make one other times I buy one but the kids really like it. Round two

of Birthdays. 3 of my four kids have their birthdays in December. Robin on the 8th and Damien & Noé on the 10th. It's like running a marathon. An extra post today to wish the biggest HAPPY BIRTHDAY ever to my 8 year old boys!
Aujourd'hui c'est l'anniversaire de mes deux grands. Ils ont huit ans. J'en reviens pas. Je les donne milles bisous et je leur souhaite que du bonheur.

8/12/2011 Happy Birthday Robin

My boy turned 5 on Thursday. I just can't believe how time flies. He is very suborn, not patient at all and can't take no for an answer but at the same time he is so smart, really clever with words and can be ever so sweet. Happy Birthday Robin!

Jeudi Robin a eu ses 8 ans. C'est un garçon très vigoreux qui n'aime pas qu'on lui dit non mais il est très malin et drôle. Bon anniversaire mon loulou.

Just love each and every one of their kits. They work so well with my style. Here's a layout I created using the Field Guide kit. I just love that background paper and wanted to see as much of it as possible. Went for clustering and minimalist yet adding little details like the stamps, butterfly masks and brads.

I just can't believe it'll be the 1st of December tomorrow. This evening I'll be finishing off my first pages of my DD and I'll be ready to start. This year has gone by so fast! Some news and some things to show you. First: I can be found in this French scrapbooking magazine (p.10-11). A two-page spread about me.

I tried to send this layout in for a magazine call but my mails kept being returned (probably a problem with their mail box) so I'll show it here on my blog. I really love the CHAP line from American Crafts. The designs are awesome and even if it looks like a collection for boys it's so versatile. Here is a layout I made for "catch me if you can SKETCH" challenge on the C&S Avenue forum. Everything is from the CHAP line.

Sassafras had a sale some weeks ago and I grabbed one of their boxes. Boy did I get a lot of product for near to nothing! I immediately made a layout. Oh and I nearly forgot, Revlie is organising an awesome event you don't want to miss. Check it out here.

I have really wanted to get one but they aren't easy to find around here and I didn't want to buy one. I loved the Amy Tangerine mini book and thought I could use that as base but I couldn't get my hands on one either (have got it now). I decided to make my own mini book for all my ideas inspired by the Amy Tangerine mini book and here it is:

It's that time of year again ...

...to start thinking about my December Daily. Loved making one last year but it took me so much time so this year I've decided to go for something different. I might do it day by day or maybe combine days so that it stays fun. I've already picked all my goodies (using stuff from my stash) and the base is all done!! I have also decided that my album will be less holiday themed. Want to see some pics? I've made a mini book with folders and in each folder I'll slip my journalling cards and pictures. I still have to add the embellishments.

It has been exactly one year that I have been working with Kimberly's kits from Hip2Bsquarescrapbooking. I have decided to step down from the DT. So many things have changed and I have been given so many new opportunities. This was my first DT spot ever and it has enabled me to grow as a scrapbooker. I felt it was time to move on. I will miss working with these FABULOUS kits and I have been so lucky to get to know new people who inspire me every day. Kimberly, THANK YOU and I wish you all the best with Hip2Bsquare. Crop des Pois rayés

Last Sunday I had a great time at a crop. The girls had three projects. A mini book with Stef and another with me and we also played a game wxith Paloma. The end result: a layout. I still have to make Stef's mini book but I can show you the layout I made and the mini book I had created for the occasion. The participants got to use embossing folders and a scoring board and I think they really enjoyed themselves.

Dimanche à la crop des pois rayés j'ai proposé un mini embossage à froid. J'espère que les filles ont pris du plaisir à le faire.Et puis je vous montre ma page faite lors du jeu avec Paloma.

What a weekend. I was up until midnight on Saturday prepping for my class which I taught on Sunday. I'm really chuffed because the girls really liked it. I even managed to make a layout thanks to Paloma who had prepared a smashing scrapping game. I'll show pictures of my mini book and layout later this week. So what have I got to show? Well, a wintery page using lots of American Crafts goodies but in tiny amounts. I made it for a magazine call but haven't heard back yet. If they do pick it, I'll just take it off my blog!

Quel weekend. Samedi jour de préparation pour la crop et dimanche la Crop des pois rayes. Un grand merci aux filles pour leur enthousiasme, à Isa et Sandrine pour l'accueil et un petit coucou à Steph (j'adore ton projet, je le garde pour le congé de la Toussaint) et à Paloma (troooooop chouette ton jeu!!!!!) Nightfall and Halloween

Yesterday it was my turn on the American Crafts blog to show a layout and a card made with the Nightfall collection. It is such a beautiful line and really versatile. At first I didn't want to make anything Halloween related as it isn't really such a big festival here in Belgium though it is starting to become part of our festivities. It's just not like in the USA or other countries. In the end I made a fall layout and can you believe it, a Halloween card. I felt so inspired by one of the stickers with a spider and its web that I decided to replicate it using some thread. Funny but I really love that card. The layout was a lot easier. I really wanted to use different patterned papers and I wanted to change from 12*12. So I chose to use strips and a 8.5*11 format. Wasn't sure at first when I had finished as it so different from what I usually do (clusters and white space) but I really think the photo pops out and the colours go so well with it. All in all I am pleased how it turned out. What do you think?

Hier, j'avais une page et une carte sur le blog de American Crafts. Je devais utiliser la collection Nightfall que je trouve particulièrement jolie. Je ne voulais pas faire de projet sur Halloween mais j'ai été inspirée par un des autocollants avec une araignée que j'ai quand même fais une carte pour Halloween et je l'aime beaucoup!!

La page était plus facile à réaliser car je voulais utiliser plusieurs papiers donc j'ai opté pour des bandes. Je n'étais pas très sure une fois terminer car ce n'est pas vraiment mon style (vide et clustering) mais je trouve que c'était la page à faire pour cette photo! Vous en pensez quoi?

I might be repeating myself but just can't get enough of the October My Scrapbooknook kit. I'll have to stop using it for a while because I have got other assignments to finish first but I did manage to squeeze this layout in. Not too much fuss. It used some white Chinese ink and added some gold glitter to it before it dried.

The October Scrapbooknook kit is really gorgeous. The colours are so bright and it really compensates for the lack of sunshine we are having at the moment. I have already made one layout and some others are sketched out. Just wanted to share the first. It is really simple. I used some tiny canvases to add dimension.

I have always LOVED their products and now I have subscribed to their monthly kit and I don't regret it!!!! I love it! Here is my first layout. I found an old photograph of me probably taken about 29 years ago. Did you know I used to be blond!!! Just look at the picture.

No, I'm not sad but I have a really bad cold. I haven't been ill at all since January! It must be that one COLD I have each year that really gets me down! It's 23°C outside and I am freezing! Well now that is said let's talk scrap. Even a cold can't stop me scrapping a bit!!!! I still had some products left over from my September Nook kit and decided to play with Jessy's sketch for the 15-30 September sketch challenge. I used white embossed cardstock as background but I think I've had enough of that. Might move on to something else. And then just look at what the October kit holds in store. Yummy!

Et oui, j'ai mon rhume de l'année. Il fait beau et je me sens horrible. J'ai quand même trouvé le temps de faire une petite page pour le sketch proposé par Jessy sur le forum du SCRAPBOOKNOOK.

American Crafts circles

Yesterday I had my first post on the American Crafts blog. I made a layout and a card using the Daydreams collection which I love because of it's bright and fun summery colours. I was afraid to start scrapping my AC products and felt a little overwhelmed by them. So I just decided to look through the catalogue. And finally I found my inspiration. The cover of the catalogue is so pretty with clusters of circles and I wanted to do the same. Lots of circles in clusters!

The card was a lot easier. So simple when you've got lovely stickers to work with!

A lot of people asked me how I made those embossed circles. It's so easy! With a compass draw a circle on you page. Place an embossing folder underneath and rub over the circle with your bone folder. And voilà! You can use any kinds of shapes. Simple and I find it adds so much texture to a layout!

Pour faire les cercles embossés rien de plus simple! Dessinez un circle sur votre page. Prenez une plaque à embosser et placez le en dessous du circle. Passez dessus avec un plioir et voilà, le tour est joué.

The September Scrapbooknook kit is soooooooooo gorgeous. I'm always afraid when I get crate paper because it doesn't seem quite my style but it is!!!!! I made this little mini book using a place mat I found for $0.50. I cut it to size and decorated it. It is simple but I really love it. I want to keep it but I'm going to give it to my sister as it is her daughter on the photos.

This week has been really hectic and I haven't had that much time for scrapbooking. Last weekend I did manage to make these cute little note cards for a challenge at the Nook. I decided to go with a pink-blue theme.The September kit is soooo gorgeous, stuffed to the brim with Crate Paper (Random collection). Even got the Farmhouse collection as well, just couldn't resist! It's so easy to use those papers!!

Didn't have the time to blog about it yesterday but my little Elouan turned two. He's the cheekiest boy ever and very smart. Loves copying his older brothers and wants to do everything all by himself. He is tiring and very demanding but oh so sweet. 2 years ago this cutie pie brightened my life even more.

First of all, inspiration board 208 is up over at ColorCombosGalore. At the moment I am really feeling inspired by colour combos. I really wanted to go for lots of colour but ended up using a white background and hints here and there. Used some Amy Tangerine stamps (adore them!), added some mist, thread, 6 pearls and voilà. My passion for photography as a layout.

The nook is really one of the best places to be!

And then probably what some of you have been waiting for: the tutorial. Yep! I don't buy my albums (might do now that I'm on the AC team and can get a discount) I make them. And it's pretty easy!

Here we go (hope you've got some time as this may take a while).

1. Material:

Thick cardboard: 1 piece: 15½ '' by 13" , 1 piece 15'' by 13" and another 3" by 13"

Fabric to cover

Cardstock: 2 pieces 6" by 12" , 2 pieces 8½" by 12", and another 3" by 12".

Ribbon

decorative tape

double sided tape (I use the one they use for carpets).

2. Step by step instructions.

Lay the cardboard as shown in the photo and cover with double sided tape.

Leave a small gap between the pieces so that your covers will be able to move.

Lay your fabric over the tape and turn the whole thing round.

Fold the corners like so:

And add some more adhesive.

And fold again.

More adhesive:

Take the cardstock and cover. Start in the middle. Don't cover the lines where the covers bend with cardstock! To hide them I used some ribbon and decorative tape (used different ribbon from in the photo with the material!).

Next you need this: (don't know what is is called in French, English or Dutch) and 4 brads (not too small!)

Place it very close to the left hand side of the right cover and mark the spots where you will be putting the brads. Make 4 holes (I used small fine scissors) and add your brads. It will look like this from the back:

Add some ribbon around to keep the layouts in place.

Here is one I made some time ago in dark blue with leftovers from my curtains!

Sorry for the poor quality photos but with kiddos all over the place I had a hard time taking them and didn't get the time to adjust the settings of the camera.

I dared touch, tear and use my AC products. They are so pretty to look at but layouts and cards do not make themselves one their own! Here are two layouts I created for a PAGE KIT sold in the online store Scrapfuté. The kit comes with all the products (hand picked by ME!) and a PDF file with step-by-step instructions (mists, paints, stamps are not included and pdf is in FRENCH!!). I loved making them.

That's what it has been this week. I forget how tiring the first few school days are. It's Friday and I can say, I have some great classes and my students are fabulous (well most are!). I have so much to share and show so lets get started. First is the CCG inspiration board and my layout. LOVED those colours and this is one of my favourite layouts. There is also a class/tutorial (which I created) called FOCUS ON DETAIL over on the ColorCombosGalore forum!

Quelle semaine. Ah, la rentrée m'a épuisée mais je dois dire que j'ai des super chouettes classes et une horaire de rève! J'ai beaucoup de choses à vous montrer. D'abord le combo de chez CCG avec ma page. Une de mes préférées!

Then I made this planner using AMY TANGERINE products. Love it. I'll love using it through out this academic year!

A sketch and some cards

When I started scrapbooking I always used sketches. They made me feel at ease and as a novice they were the perfect learning curve. Even now after 7 years of scrapping I still love a great sketch but I use them as starting point and can get a little carried away. Over at the NOOK JC made this sketch for the 15-31 sketch challenge. It inspired me and this is what I came up with. I used the OH SO WONDERFUL Scrapbooknook August kit.

Well, I can finally reveal this week's inspiration board over at CCG. I does seem a little frightening but I LOVE it and really like the way my layout turned out. This week's designer challenge was a recipe. Go over to the CCG site and discover what the other DT girls have come up with. You will not believe your eyes.

Enfin je peux vous montrer le combo 206 de CCG. Cette semaine-ci le défi était en forme d'éléments imposés. J'ai adoré la faire!

Explanation concerning the designer challenge which was a recipe:

Wood: I used my wood embossing plate and embossed straight onto my page by placing it below my page and going over it with my bone folder.
Ledge:The ribbon to create a horizontal line, the ribbon is also the striped element!
Transparency: I layered vellum paper under my picture.

Title in caps: TUNE

Then as I always do at the moment I added some thread to soften the lines and create movement.
Many people ask me how I get it to hold on my page. Well I staple it down, there, where I know I will be covering it and then I use my hot glue gun to adhere the rest.

Oh and I have some good news. One of my layouts got the HONOURABLE MENTION over on the MYMINDSEYE blog and I get to choose one collection. Now that was hard! Then I was lucky on the Basic Grey blog and was randomly picked to choose one of the new lines. Lots of scrapping in sight!!!

Et puis, j'ai eu le HONOURABLE MENTION prix sur le blog de My Mind's eye pour cette page. Et j'ai donc pu choisir une de leur collection. Sur le nouveau blog de Basic Grey mon nom a été choisi parmi plus de 450 et j'ai aussi pu choisir une de leur nouvelle collection. Beaucoup de scrap en vu!

Well, I haven't shown everything from last weekend's crop. I really had a ball and love everything I made, which is unusual as I am my WORST critic. Tomorrow will be dedicated to ColorcombosGalore and their next inspiration board. It's a stunning one and I love my layout.

So far it has been a great weekend. Oodles of sun, lots of walks and I have been scrapping. Mostly at night or nap time but the creative juices are flowing thanks to the VC crop over at the scrapbooknook. THEME: SHAKESPEARE. And I am having so much fun. I won't be doing all 16 challenges just those that inspire me. (And I should also get started on my AC projects! My sketch book is full, but I dare not cut those pretty papers!) Now just to show you how much fun I am having here the first series of layouts and cards!

In May I went to the CS Avenue forum crop. My sweet friend grenouillette came up with the most WONDERFUL project. I forgot to blog about it. I love it to bits. Tweeked it a bit to match my taste but the idea is all hers!!!

En mai c'était la crop du CS Avenue et grenouillette avait proposé un home déco très original que j'ai terminé le jour même mais je ne l'ai pas encore montré. J'adore ce projet qui a une place dans notre salon!

Yes, I can finally reveal I made the American Crafts Design Team. I'm thrilled, excited and still think I'm dreaming. The kids thought I was going mad as I was doing a happy dance all day on Saturday. I even asked my husband to pinch me several times. AC is my favourite manufacturer and to be on the DT is a dream come true. And to top it all some scrappy friends are part of the team too. Congrats Pam and Cindy!

Here is this week's inspirations board at ColorCombosGalore. I was really excited when I say it especially the designer's challenge which was to use a grid. But when I started creating I got stuck. I finally managed to make two layouts which I don't really like but hubby says they are great so I sent them in.

Voici le combo de cette semaine de chez COMBOCOLORSGALORE. J'ai aimé le combo et le challenge mais j'ai eu difficile de faire une page. J'en ai fait deux mais je ne suis pas très sure!

And here are my two layouts:
I cut out 6 squares that I placed on my patterned paper which has a layer of gesso on it. I covered up the bottom and top part and added some glimmer mist. I did some FAUX stitching around to squares, added my photo and then put my embellishments to break up the squares. I added blue and brown thread so soften the edges of the squares.

Pour cette page, j'ai découpé 6 carrés que j'ai placés sur mais page préalablement couverte avec du gesso. J'ai caché une partie du haut et du bas de ma page et j'ai ajouté du glimmer. J'ai essayé de placer les embellissements d'une façon à couper les carrés.

Now this is not the kind of layouts I make but I love changing once in a while. I embossed a grid on my blue bazzill using my scoring board and went along the borders with some white chalk to make the grid pop out a bit. I added die cuts and cut them in half using the top half at the top of my page and the other on the bottom. The embossed grid is subtle but it adds a little extra something to look at. Not my favourite layout but my DH LOVES it.

J'ai embossé ma page bleu avec ma planche à embosser et puis avec de la craie je suis passé sur les bords pour les faire ressortir. J'ai coupé les die cuts en deux pour pouvoir les utiliser en haut et en bas. L'effet embossé est subtile mais intéressant. Mon mari adore cette page. Moi, bof!

Sassafras alphabet challenge

There are some great challenges out there for the moment and they are really inspiring me. This layout I made for the latest challenge on the Sassafras blog. I usually use stamps to create my titles and this challenge just pushed me that little bit further. The challenge is to use at least 3 different alpha's from Sassafras. All products used are Sassafra except the chipboard hearts and the thread.

I applied a layer of gesso and stuck my thread on to my page while the gesso was still wet. I also added some doodling and I love the way it turned out.

Il y a quelques chouettes défis sur le net pour le moment et sur le blog de Sassafras j'ai trouvé un challenge qui me plaisait. Il faut créer une page avec au moins 3 alphabets différents. Voici ma page. Allez faire un tour sur leur blog et participez!

Hip June layouts

Yep, they are finally on the Hip blog so I can show those I haven't. I really LOVE those kits. So many possibilities. I am mixing English and French more and more on my layouts. I think it's important that I use both. English is my mother tongue and French my husband's (and the kids speak French, understand Dutch and a bit of English). So without further a due:

And then something different. A layout without photos. I used my Martha Stuart Scoring Board to divide my page. Love that little bit of embossing.

And are you ready for some colour cause this one is full of it. I used MME lime twist papers and Jillibean Soup products on this one. They go so well together.

MME challenge

I had some time on my hands (which is not usual for a Saturday) and decided I would play along with the MME layout challenge. I haven't got any of the new releases so played with the papers I had. I just love adding thread at the moment and it is on almost all of my layouts at the moment. I did tweak the sketch a bit to match my style and I like the way it turned out.

Aujourd'hui j'avais un peu de temps et j'ai décidé de faire le challenge sur le MME blog (My mind's eye). J'adore utiliser des fils à coudre sur mes pages pour le moment et j'en ai encore ajouté.

Inspiration board 203 is up on the Color Combos Galore site. Look at them, aren't they gorgeous.
Combo 203 est sur le site . J'adore ces couleurs tellement que j'ai fait 2 pages. Le challenge était d'utiliser du calque ou autre élément transparent.

I started making one layout and felt inspired to make another. Yes 2 layouts! This week's challenge was to use vellum or incorporate a translucent element. In both layouts I used vellum but in two different ways.

In the first one I layered three layers of vellum which I had punched out with a scallop punch. I also added translucent pearls. I was also inspired by the sea grass and I decided to add some thread. Some acrylic paint just to add some "DUNE GRASS" colour.

Dans cette première page j'ai utilisé du calque que j'ai décopé avec une perforatrice. J'ai aussi été inspirée par les herbes que j'ai représenté par du fil. Un peu de couleur acrylic pour la couleur DUNE GRASS et voilà.

This layout is a little more graphic. I used my nestabilities as template and cut out the shapes with a exacto knife. I then added some embossed vellum underneath for the translucent element.

Ici j'ai aussi opté pour le calque mais je l'ai embossé. J'ai utilisé mes nestabilities comme patron pour les formes que j'ai découpé avec un cutter. Le résultat est plus graphique mais j'aime aussi.

I know they aren't up on the Hipblog yet but I'm posting them anyway! I've got so much stuff to show that I have a post for every day for the next week! The June kit was so yummy and I love these colourful cards. I'm really starting to get the hang of this card making thing! What do you think?

Butterflies...

Hi there!

I have been quite taken to butterflies and I love adding them to my layouts. On the forum ONLY SCRAP it was my turn to post a sketch and look what I found!!! Yep! A sketch with a butterfly, well half a butterfly. And here's my take on it. And yes, I used some gesso again.

Some good news and ...

Well I do have some good news! Emmanuelle who owns an online scrapbooking store here in Belgium has kindly asked me to be on her Design Team. She doesn't do monthly kits but the Design Team creates kits which she sells. The kits come with step by step instructions. I've got so many ideas!!! Thanks Emma!!

I am having so much fun at Colorcombosgalore. I just love working with the palette and the designer challenge. It really makes me think outside of the box and try out new things. Look at this yummy board!

J'aime beaucoup travailler pour COLOR COMBOS GALORE. J'adore utiliser les combos et le challenge me fait sortir de ma zone de confort. Voici celui de cette semaine!

AND this is what I made.

The designer challenge this week was wood grain. I could have used patterned paper but decided to try a wood-grain effect using gesso. I then layered my paper that I cut out as frames. To addsome dimension I stuck them on thick cardboard. I'm going to frame it and hang it up somewhere! I also made a tutorial for the wood-grain gesso effect, so hop over to colorcombosgalore and check it out.

Le challenge cette semaine c'était le bois. J'aurai pu prendre un papier imprimé avec un effet bois mais j'ai voulu essayer autre chose. Ici j'ai décidé utiliser le gesso et faire un effet bois. J'ai fait un pas-à-pas qui se trouve ici. Puis j'ai coupé mes papiers pour faire un cadre qui est collé en 3D.

I also decided to make a card. The wood-grain here is made using an Craft concepts embossing folder. Love all the effects you can make with those folders! I finally got to use those spools from the Nook June kit.

J'ai aussi fait une carte. J'ai enfin pu utiliser les bobines reçues dans mon kit de juin de chez the SCRAPBOOKNOOK!

I still have so much to show you. I'll probably be doing a post a day as I have a lot of catching up to do. Tomorrow I'll show you some sneak peeks of a project I've made for a crop. I used loads of AC products. You won't get to see the entire project as the crop is in October. Have a great day!

Pebbles

I LOVE their products but I can't seem to get hold of everything here. These are a few of my latest creations with their products.

A simple card with some stitching for a little girl who's turning 8.

Isn't it fun to scrap a girl. And isn't she a cutie my niece. I used my favourite border punch (at the moment) and even use the borders of the patterned papers. Isn't is nice that one side has these cute prints.

For this layout I was starting to run out of paper so I sewed two pieces together and added some extra stitching. Got my punches out again and my orange smooch (I'll have to get some more of that soon!!!). Some doodling (love doing that once in a while) and voilà!

This must be my favourite! It is a wooden board with 9 wooden squares on it. It is now hanging on one of our kitchen walls. I cut out 9 squares of patterned paper and embellished them. LOVE the colours and I can still feel that kiss.
The wooden board is from Au petit bois.
Et voilà. Aujourd'hui je vous montre des créations faites avec des produits PEBBLES. Ils ont vraiment des collections magnifiques mais je n'arrive pas à tout trouver par ici. J'ai fait une carte, deux pages et une décoration faite avec une base de bois avec 9 carrés en reliëf acheter chez Julie Petit (Au petit bois) il y a un certain temps. J'adore le résultat!

And now for this week's palette. I loved those colours from the start and I decided to make a layout and a card:

I love that blue patterned paper and really wanted to use it. I just love that little camera stamp and decided it would be the centre piece of my card. I heat embossed it to give it some shine. Next I added a sentiment stamp from Heroarts and to get all the colours from the palette on there I added two light blue brads.

And now my layout and it must be one of my favourites.

When I created this layout I had different patterned papers lying on my scrap table. And in the end I didn't use them at all. I took out my Kesi'art stamps (French Brand) and stamp the circles with versafine Deep lagoon and sprinkled transparent embossing powder over it. I then heat embossed it. It gives it a nice shiny finish. The leaves I just stamped on and added some stickles. It's been a while since I used those. I added my photo, a border sticker, a rub-on from Lilybee and a stamp with the title. To finish it off I added some brads (lighter blue) and drew a border around my photo. Not a lot on my layout but that's how I like my layouts.

Love this game and yes it also exists for scrapbooking. What? Well on the temporelles forum, the game this summer is based on scrabble. Each letter correpsonds to a certain instruction. Each participant gets 7 letters and we have to make a layout based on 7 instructions. Each week we get a new set of instructions. Here's my first layout.

Sur le forum des temporelles un jeu de scrabble se joue cet été. A chaque tirage les participants ont 7 lettres qui correspondent à des éléments à mettre sur notre page. J'adore le principe mais ce n'est pas toujours évident. Voici ma première page.
