Altenew Marker Release

20 November 2017

Welcome to the Altenew November Marker Release Blog Hop. If you have hopped over from Tammy Tutterow  's blog you are right on track. You can start the hop over on the Altenew Card blog.
Altenew has just released Artist Markers set B and C. They are alcohol based markers perfect for coloring and blending and are a perfect medium for adding color to the Altenew stamps.

I created two cards. I created a background in two different hues: one red/pink and the other blue. I used some marker paper which is smooth and you can blend the colours easily. I coloured and ombre effect background.

For the card below I cut out a cover using the Leaf cover die from Altenew and placed it over my background. Then I stamped and heat embossed a feather from the Golden Feather stamp set and coloured it using the red/pink  markers from set C. For the sentiment I picked a sentiment from the Happy Holiday Stamp set and embossed it with Platinum embossing powder. I also used this powder for the feathers.

For the second card I went with the blue background and added a feather at the bottom using the same techniques as for the one above.

PRIZES:

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to SIX lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and Altenew Scrapbook Blog by Monday, November 27th for a chance to win. Six winners will be announced on the Altenew Card Blog and Altenew Scrapbook Blog on Wednesday, November 29th.
My Giveaway:
I'll draw a winner to receive a $30 gift certificate. All you have to do is leave a comment and tell how you use the markers. I am always looking for ways to improve my colouring techniques. I am always in awe of the other DT members coloured flowers and never seem to be able to get the same effect.

Your next stop is the FABULOUS Suzy Plantamura.
Here is the full blog hop list.

Beautiful cards! Excited about these new marker sets!

I like your scribbled ombre backgrounds, simple but effective way to use the markers. Can you use these markers with embossing, copic say not to use theirs as it mucks up the nibs. I usually used markers to shade and colour outline images. I've never thought of using them for alcohol technique backgrounds before.

VanillaCarmel said...

I so need to do more with markers. I have been printing out coloring pages, fussy cutting things out, and coloring them to make different embellishments for my scrapbook pages. These markers would work well for that!!

Stefanie White said...

I love both of your cards and what you did with the markers. You guys are amazing with how you use these markers. I have a few markers from another company and I can never get them to do what everyone else does with them. Will you teach me?
I'm on the fence about the feather stamp. While I like it and I love how you embossed the one on the blue card I don't know if I would ever use them. However, your 2 cards are beautiful! I love the sentiment on your blue card.I'd like to have that one.
Thanks for showing us your colorful cards and for showing us how to use these markers. Thanks also for giving us the chance to win something. When I win, I want to buy these markers and get them to do what you did.
